The Pilates method focuses on core strength and is an excellent, straightforward way of addressing postural issues and developing stability and ease in the body. There are classes to suit all levels, and we also offer pregnancy & post-natal Pilates. Teachers vary greatly in their approach so do try them all!
Pilates is a technique for strengthening and toning the core postural muscles, especially in the abdominal area and the back. Using small focused movements, core awareness is increased improving strength, flexibility and posture.
Whilst a general Pilates class is not suitable for pregnant women, you are welcome to attend our Pregnancy Pilates class after your 12 week scan. We also have Post-Natal Pilates classes with a crèche so you can bring your baby.
Pregnancy Pilates is a specialist Pilates class that will help you manage the physical and physiological changes of pregnancy and prepare for life with a little one. It is suitable at any stage during your second and third trimester, right up to birth.
Some of the many benefits of Pilates in pregnancy include:

Pilates can help with many common symptoms of pregnancy such as:
Backache, Diastasis Recti, Pelvic Girdle Pain, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Pelvic Floor weakness or related injury. We welcome you to this specialist group class once you have had your 12 week scan and have been approved to exercise by your doctor or midwife.
This class has a focus on core strength, the abdominal area and pelvic floor, to draw your body back together and improve posture. There is a crèche worker in the room to help take care of your baby. Babies are welcome up until they are crawling. Tea and snacks are provided after the class in our leafy courtyard area.
Yogahome is all on one level so if your baby is asleep you can bring your buggie all the way in.
If you have any post natal complications such as diastasis recti or have had a caesarean section we also recommend you try a one-to-one session. This can help you understand your own physical limits before going to a regular post natal pilates class.

Level 1 : For beginners or anyone wanting to brush up on key principles of alignment, core stability, and breathing. No experience necessary.
All Levels : Everyone welcome and differing abilities are catered for. No previous experience necessary but a minimum level of fitness and body awareness is recommended as these classes may be physically demanding.
Level 2 : For students familiar with the discipline and with core and postural awareness. Expect to be guided into more challenging variations, repetitions or longer holds.
Yogahome offers a weekly zumba class and occasional 'pop-up' dance classes, all featured in our Schedule of drop-in classes. All our dance classes are for all levels: open to everyone, no experience necessary.
Zumba is a fun, friendly, aerobic dance session. Everybody learns as they go along to a selection of mostly Latin moves. Doesn't matter if you stumble about, it's a fun way of working up a sweat! Bring trainers, a bottle of water and dress to sweat!
These warm and welcoming classes are designed to introduce children to ballet technique and allow them to explore the joy of dancing. The classes are well structured and aim to develop physical strength, coordination, musicality, confidence and creativity.
No pre-booking or formal ballet wear is required. The drop in classes are only £5. All classes run in term time only. You can always check our Schedule
- 3-4 year olds: Wed 4-4.30pm: £5 drop in
- 5-6 year olds: Wed 4.45-5.15pm: £5 drop in

Usually thought of in the West as a soft, flowing, dance-like exercise, Tai Chi is, in fact, a martial art. The class looks at applications of the movements and postures as a way to understand and feel their intention, perfect their execution, but there is no intention to teach students to fight.
Tai Chi is accessible to a wide range of people thanks to its elegant form, structured to take the practitioner from simpler movements into more complex ones literally step-by-step, learning through repetition.
Class is open to all levels and is on:
Fun and relaxed classes pop-up regularly teaching you movement and dance techniques that are great to keep fit, learn to move creatively or simply complement your yoga practice. Some level of fitness is recommended, but no experience is necessary. Just a desire to move!
